Cranksgiving Tampa Bay 2015 Recap

Cranksgiving Tampa

Every November, cyclists all across the nation organize events known as Cranksgiving. The organizers in Tampa knocked it out the the park once again with an awesome event. Participants showed up at the Creative Loafing Space in Ybor with empty bags and cargo baskets ready to tackle the streets and gather as much food as possible.

Riders could compete individually or in groups, and they were given shopping lists of nesasary items and stores to visit. In all, 130 riders managed to bring back over 2,000 pounds of food and 53 frozen turkeys! The Brew Bus was at the finish line filling the bus with boxes of food. At the end of the race a raffle raised money for Francis House and donated Brew Bus beer was sold for $2 on behalf of On Bikes

After the winners we’re announced the whole group tailed behind the Brew Bus to personally deliver the food to Metropolitan Ministries along with Ferman Mini, and Famous Tate Appliances who stocked freezers with the turkeys.
